This is who I am… Hi, I am Julia Vitman. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who has been working in the field of social work for a decade. I have extensive knowledge and experience working with diverse populations. I have worked with adults, children and families who struggle with severe mental illness, depression, anxiety, complex grief/loss and trauma. I have also worked within the foster care/adoption system as an advocate for children and families as they go through the process of fostering and/or adoption. As a clinical social worker, I provide vital support to my clients by promoting change, self-determination and the enhancement of overall well-being. I meet my clients where they are by providing a safe space for them to begin their journey.
What I really want you to know is… I am a five-year infertility warrior. While on my journey I have experienced complex trauma, grief, loss and pain. This process impacted and altered my life emotionally, physically, mentally and financially. I have undergone five Invitro Fertilization (IVF) treatments, seven embryo implantation transfers, suffered one miscarriage and I have had multiple IVF related medical surgeries and procedures. I switched doctors to obtain a second opinion and try something new and innovative. I have been diagnosed with PCOS and have had to change medication protocols multiple times to combat PCOS symptoms. While I have lost ten embryos, I still have two viable frozen embryos left. I am not giving up the fight just yet.
I have been where you are. Whether you have unexplained infertility, suffered a miscarriage, failed an IVF cycle or are just struggling to conceive, I know how emotionally and physically draining this process is. You just want to have a family. It might be tough to fathom that you have to take this route on your journey to create your family. It can be extremely heartbreaking to make difficult decisions, which can often leave you feeling powerless yet hopeful. Through my own personal experiences with infertility, I have come to realize there is a lack of support and awareness regarding the infertility process and what it entails. I do not want anyone to feel they are alone on their journey. My purpose is to provide coaching and counseling services to help support and advocate for people who are experiencing or going through the following:
- Preconception issues
- Reproductive health issues/concerns
- Infertility treatments
- Pregnancy loss
- Using a gestational carrier
- Using donor embryos
